KURT ELIZABETH HUMMEL
I don't know you but I want you all the more for that.
Words fall through me and always fool me and I can't react.
And games that never amount to more than they are meant will play themselves out.
Take this sinking boat and point it home.
We've still got time.

Kurt Hummel takes pride in many things but none as much as his appearance. Even from a young age, Kurt preferred to look prim and proper, avoiding jeans and tee shirts like most boys and opting instead for a more sleek look. Very rarely does Kurt alternate from his slick and perfectly coiffed hair, keeping it neat and ordely. He went through a phase where he slicked the middle of his hair, causing it stay up while keeping the sides flat.
His physical appearance is more on the small and lanky side. He stands at 5'8, slightly below the average height of a male his age. He has very defined and slightly femmine facial features, including a delicate nose. His eyes are a light blue green. While Kurt is hardly made of muscle, his stint on the football team as kept him in lean shape.
When it comes to clothes, Kurt knows no limits. He prefers to be edgy and bold with his fashion choices, mixing his tops with accessories for a more drastic look. At that, Kurt manages to balance darks with lights fairly well. Bowties, ties and collared shirts are among Kurt’s favorite. He prefers casual khakis or skinny jeans matched with loafers or boots. Occasionally, Kurt will use a variety of hats from bonnets to military caps. He does enjoy pushing the boundaries with clothing but always demands to look his best.personality
Kurt's definitely one of the most diverse characters in the Lima, having interests in everything from cars to fashion, and seems to have very high standards for himself.
On the surface, Kurt can appear superficial, concerning only with the looks and appearances with others. He has harshly criticized Rachel’s fashion choices to her face but his insecurities lie deeper than that. He does know there is more to someone than a designer jacket and has come strides in accepting that and working on it.
Kurt is also very quick witted and has a sly sense of humor, being able to go toe to toe with many in a war of words. It has taken time but Kurt is very wise and has learned the boundaries of being brutally honest and managed to tone down some of his more negative comments to his friends. Although, when Kurt is left feeling hurt, rejected or scared, his mean words can come striking out at inappropriate times. In addition to his wits, Kurt can be slightly manipulative but has improved upon this.
One important thing to note about Kurt is his strength and resilience. As the only openly gay student prior to Blaine’s transfer, Kurt faced bullying, torment, teasing and other negative actions toward him. He embraced his sexuality and has never made apologies for it but the loneliness he had felt was difficult to overcome. He has proven he can be a better human being than that of his tormentors as he was able to forgive Karfosky for his bullying upon seeing how hurt and how much regret Dave held.family & history

Living his entire life in Lima, Ohio has never been easy for Kurt. Although, for the first eight years of his life, he lived in a fairytale dream. His parents were fantastic role models for and spent large amount of time with the boy. Upon his mother’s passing, Kurt’s relationship with his father changed as Burt became so focused on caring and raising Kurt the best he could. From a young age, Kurt always knew he wasn’t ‘normal’ like the other boy’s, preferring to play tea party and with dolls rather than race bikes and play video games. As he matured and grew, Kurt never came to a realization that he was gay as much as he just knew.
High school was the changing point in Kurt’s life however. His freshman year was quiet, Kurt opting to hid behind his books and love of theater by himself, much to Burt’s dismay. On weekends, Kurt hid in the garage under the guise of working for his father, rather than step out and deal with the harsh realties of high school. Sophomore year brought about a change for Kurt as Mr. Schuester introduced the Glee club and for the first time in his life found friends. However, Kurt was soon faced with coming out and struggling with his own insecurities. Although he never reached the levels of Karfosky and Azimio, Kurt was in a sense a bully to Rachel as well but over the course of a year, grew and changed his behavior. Glee club hardly made him more popular, something that Kurt did desire and want but he refused to back down or cave. Eventually, it lead to the realization of his dreams of becoming bigger than Lima. His love life was non-existent however. Kurt had braved a silent crush on Finn Hudson for months and being so close to him, working with him, did not help at all. He plotted and schemed for ways to be closer to Finn and found his way by hooking his single father up with Finn’s single mother. In the end however, Kurt’s crush on Finn was harshly dealt with and he realized that he could not make Finn gay the same way he could not be made straight.
Junior year was vastly different from the previous year. Although he had come out and accepted his sexuality proudly, the atmosphere around him changed. Everyone coupled up and the feelings of isolation and loneliness set in. The only ray of hope Kurt saw or felt was by the transfer of Sam Evans, even though it would later become clear Sam did not share his sexuality. The torment Kurt received at the hands of Karfosky increased and after befriending Blaine Anderson, a Warbler in a rival glee club, discovered Dave’s own closest homosexuality and kept it a secret. Blaine’s friendship renewed Kurt’s hope until Dave threatened his life and he broke.
Burt and Carol allowed Kurt to transfer schools and under Blaine’s guidance, Kurt become stronger and more secure with himself, developing a close bond with the other boy as well. As the only other openly gay teenager Kurt knew, he developed feelings for Blaine and after a few stumbling blocks, managed to convey how he felt and finally discovered Blaine returned his feelings. The two feel into a relationship and with the help of former glee clubbers, Kurt returned to McKinley a new man.
His focus this year is NYADA and getting to New York. The trip to Nationals has inspired Kurt to make his dreams come true and to make sure Blaine takes that step with him if he can. He realizes it will take a lot more work than just his voice and the fear of failure is high for Kurt. Really, he just wishes to make his senior year the best possible.the roleplayer

ROLEPLAY SAMPLE:Kurt was drunk and that much was blatantly obvious. So far this cruise hadn’t exactly been sensational but if he being honest, he hadn’t exactly been able to give it a fair chance just yet but he was talking to more people and it was slowly turning around. He didn’t really know when he’d started drinking but whatever they were - they were delicious and New York certainly had nothing like this, at least not where he’d went. Instead of wallowing in the loneliness that was Saturday night, he was diving into script edits and random tumbling that would probably make him cringe in the morning because he really had no filter at this point in time.
It was only when Blaine mentioned wanting a drink that things suddenly spun into a very neatly organized web. Maybe he had a double motive, meet the guy, feel him out see if he was nearly as amazing as he sounded.. Well, Kurt would keep telling himself that but the truth was he was lonely and jumping in on Rachel’s business hardly seemed right, especially since she had a boyfriend that Kurt actually liked now. Suffer in silence right? By the sounds of it Blaine was also suffering so why not suffer together? He’d been complaining about being hungry forever and how much could a little drink hurt? Whilst engaged in possibly the most gay battle of songs to ever come.. Well, he’d gotten distracted with ordering food, dancing and ordering drinks in order to actually put effort and contribute to said battle. Whatever, it didn’t matter.
It felt like forever by the time Blaine’s food actually arrived along with their drinks. Kurt was pretty impressed when he’d actually made it too the room with everything still situated on the tray that balanced in his arms. It had taken ten extra minutes but not a drop was spilt and that’s what we cal talent. Kurt double checked the number on the back of his hand, he’d always been against writing on himself, especially with his complexion but it took too much effort to find paper in his not so tipsy and certainly not drunken state. “Mister Anderson,” Kurt called, already a little slurred but he was holding up well.. Unless someone looked at his hair which was all over the place. “I believe the whole hunger issue has been solved for tonight.” Kurt leaned against the door to steady himself instead of swaying in the middle of the hall. “Well, unless you’re Africa, than you’re still shit out of luck.”.
